Science - Breathing In Animals, Insects - English

RESPIRATION CHAPTER --BREATHING RATE ACTIVITY CLASS VII

Students  of class  VII A of cbse   i  were taken to science park in the school. Students carried  measuring tapes and measured their chest size during inhalaltion and exhalation in centimeters and reached to the conclusion that chest cavity expands during inhalation process of breathing.

Students measured their breathing rate at resting position  and after jogging. Students reached to the conclusion breathing rate increases after any physical activity .Students also performed an extended activity  of preparing lime water in the science integrated lab  and learned that lime water turns  milky  when the exhaled air rich in carbon dioxide is added to it. 

Students collected their readings and observations and prepared a report of same in their scrap files .

CLASS V FOOD MOBILE GROUP ACTIVITY 2016

Students of class v  made food mobiles in their class group activity in science unit 5 food. Students were divided into groups to bring two images of the sources of various food groups as energy group, body building food group , protective food group and milk group. Students were provided with paper plates , satin ribbon ,stapler in science class. Students prepared the hangings and decorated in the class.They also presented it in the class . It is also a trans activity  of visual arts.

"AGAINST ALL ODDS"ACTIVITY CLASS VII 6TH OCTOBER

"AGAINST ALL ODDS" Activity

Students of classes V -VII participated in the September month activity  titled "AGAINST ALL ODDS".It helped in assessing the multiple intelligence of the child. It was an Inter House Competition.Child from each house participated in six different rounds.

The activity started with testing the knowledge of general awareness and current affairs.The students who were able to answer correctly went ahead by performing a kinesthetic activity. Then the scientific skill of students was assessed. The students who answered correctly went ahead by jumping a hurdle. At last these  students  solved  mathematical and logical question correctly came out of the loop to reach the finishing line. 

Thus , the activity was a  complete success in assessing the Mathematical , kinesthetic, scientific , logical skills and general knowledge of the child .

CLASS V STUDENTS MAKING

CLASS V STUDENTS REVISING THE TOPICS  OF UNIT 3 AND UNIT 4 OF  LIFE CYCLE OF BUTTERFLY, LIFE CYCLE  OF FROG  BY MAKING SPIRALS  AND  MOULDING CLAY MODELS .

STUDENTS ALSO REVISED THE TOPIC OF   FOOD CHAINS IN ECOSYSTEM BY ARRANGING THE VARIOUS CUT OUTS OF PRODUCERS ,AND CONSUMERS IN CORRECT ORDER. .

GROUP ACTIVITY - ON COMBINED SEPARATION CLASS VI

Students of class vi  spent todays science period in  the  new activity area doing a brain  storming activity  of combined separation  in groups of five students each. The topic was related to unit 6 separation of substances. Each group was given a  mixture with different  components .Students had to  think and write the correct separation method with the special   property chosen  to identify  the correct method in their scrap file  . They also made the related diagram  with proper labellings .

It brought efficient learning experiences. Students were actively involved both mentally and physically. Students will  retain the content for longer duration.
