Exploring properties of material

Our Grade 1 learners became young scientists to explore everyday materials using their senses. Here is what they discovered:

• ​Dry leaves & Aluminium foil: Leaves were dull, while the foil bowl was shiny!
• ​Rubber foot & Plastic straw: Soft, flexible, and easy to bend.
• ​Scrub pad & Sponge: The scrub was rough, while the sponge soaked up water because it is absorbent—just like our soft handkerchiefs!
• ​Steel box: Super strong and rigid.
• ​Plastic: Waterproof, keeping things completely dry.

​Through hands-on touch and observation, our students  learnt the unique properties of the world around them!

IV Exploring Sound

In Class 4 Science, students explored the fascinating world of sound through engaging hands-on experiments. They observed sound vibrations by making rice grains jump on a drum surface and listened to amplified sounds through tubes. Students also played flutes, mouth organs, and blew into a Shankh (conch shell) to experience how different instruments create pitch and volume. This interactive activity clearly demonstrated how vibrating objects generate sound.

Forces Changes speed.

Our Class 1 scientists took over the open floor space in our classroom today for a high-energy physics experiment! Working in groups of five, learner's used paper aeroplanes to explore how force changes speed.

​Using the wide-open area to safely launch their creations, students tested gentle pushes against powerful throws. They quickly noticed that stronger forces sent their planes zipping across the room at top speed, turning simple paper into an exciting, hands-on lesson in motion.
