Earth Day Celebration 22.04.2019 Class V and VI

Class VA and VIA visited school science park to celebrate EarthDay.
Students performed an activity to differentiate between biodegradable and non-biodegradable things we use in our daily life.
Students used a hand shovel to dig small pits in the park and buried daily used items like aluminium foil, paper cup, cardboard box, cotton thread, pencil shavings, frooti tetra pack, chalk piece and dry leaves in the pits and covered them with soil. Students will check the same after twenty days. Students were sensitised to use biodegradable things that can be broken down by bacteria and fungi into simple form and mixed with soil. This makes soil healthy.
