Students of VI A performed a research activity to test daily life food items for their acidity and alkalinity . Students in groups tested that soap solution is alkaline and soda is acidic .
Acidic food items in large concentration cause headache, mood swings in people .
Students also explained neutralization reaction to cancel the acid effect in tooth decay ,indigestion to reduce acidity using an alkali as Calcium hydroxide reducing acidic effect in soil and lakes .
