Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first Health and Wellness Centre in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh to mark the launch of Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

 Women bikers complete 17,000 km journey across 6 countries. The women embarked on their journey from Hyderabad on Feb 11 to promote Telangana tourism.

They covered Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Bangladesh.

 Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana launched in New Delhi and   about 400 LPG connections were handed over to families belonging to below poverty line category.

President Kovind gets Equatorial Guinea’s highest civilian honour as  a recognition of his contribution to security and world peace.

·         India defeated Nigeria to clinch the 1st gold since 2006 and won both men’s and women’s TT team events at a single CWG edition.

·         Indian shooter Jitu Rai broke the record with 235.1 in the men’s 10m Air Pistol event.·         In the same event, Om Mitharval won the bronze.

VISIT TO QUTAB MINAR on 13 .04 .18

An educational  trip was organised for class VI A Primus to  Qutab Minar  .

Beautifully landscaped gardens, lush green lawns and a majestic tower in the centre, the Qutub Minar welcomed us as we walked into its premises. Made of red and buff sandstone, it is one of the highest stone towers in the world and certainly a sight to see. The architecture, splendour and craftsmanship — everything looked alive. The iron pillar in the premises —which had stood the test of time without rusting — was certainly a wonder.

The mosque, tomb and the iron pillar — everything there was visually captivating.

It is a UNESCO world heritage site in Delhi.

Qutab Minar is a soaring, 73 m-high tower of victory, built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak immediately after the defeat of Delhi's last Hindu kingdom. At the foot of the tower is the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the first mosque to be built in India. 

An inscription over its eastern gate provocatively informs that it was built with material obtained from demolishing '27 Hindu temples'. 

A 7 m-high iron pillar stands in the courtyard of the mosque. It is said that if you can encircle it with your hands while standing with your back to it your wish will be fulfilled.


Qutab-ud-din Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi, commenced the construction of the Qutab Minar in 1200 AD, but could only finish the basement. His successor, Iltutmush, added three more storeys, and in 1368, Firoz Shah Tughlak constructed the fifth and the last storey.
