Vijayadashami (Nava Ratri)
Dussehra festival is derived from Sanskrit
language which
means (Dush- hara) Dush is the name of the evil
and hara means defeat. So, on a brief defeating the
evil is
celebrated as Dussehra. This festival also includes the day on
which
Lord Sri Rama killed ten headed Ravanasura. In
addition to this, Mahisasura
mardini is the powerful form of
goddess durga who has killed the evil demons.
Dussehra
is the culmination of the mantra, sadhana and havan, to invoke
these energies to aid creation and
realise the divinity within to help
slay your demons.
Slaughter your ego, and elevate the
spirituality within you. Become Rama, Not Ravana.
Because no
matter how vicious the Evil is, Goodness within you will always be able to
let you win over not only 10, but hundred such evil skulls.
