(CLASS IV ) RATE OF EVAPORATION COMPARED WITH CLOTH OF DIFFERENT SURFACE AREA

Students did a fair test. They choose two similar cloth pieces. Both were soaked with a similar volume of water to make them wet. Only the surface area was changed for the evaporation process.
After two hours time, students found that cloth with large surface area dried but the cloth with the small surface area was still wet.
Students concluded the rate of evaporation is faster when the surface area is more.

MAKING SOLUTIONS CLASS IV

Students measured the volume of water . Water is the solvent.
They used common salt as solute . They added solute in the solvent and stirred it. After a few minutes, the salt disappeared and we could not see salt in the water.
Students now want to get back their salt. They kept the beaker under the sun to evaporate water and get back salt crystals.
HANDS ON ACTIVITY WAS ENJOYED  BY STUDENTS .

MEASURING VOLUME OF LIQUID CLASS IV

Students used a measuring cylinder to measure the volume of liquid. Liquids have a curved surface. We measure the bottom of the curve  to take our readings.
Keep the measuring cylinder on a flat surface.
We should put our eye directly at the same level as the liquid.
