Water and Oil Diya explaining science Class IVA

Oil Diya  floating on water  was prepared in class IVA to encourage sustainability and creativity along with learning science involved in Diya lighting.
An old crockery glass was filled  with water and beads ,shells and colour was poured in it .A cotton wick was fixed on OHP hard plastic sheet.
The oil floats due to low density.
Water and shell sunk due to higher density.
The wick absorbs oil through capillary action. The wick burns creation combustion giving heat and light.
The shells seen through  water  looks larger in size  as glass filled with water due to refraction.
