Visit to Shanti Devi Arya Kanya Gurukul

Students of class I to VI CBSE-I visited Shanti Devi Arya Kanya Gurukul, a residential school for girls on 3rd September 2015.

Gurukul provides necessary and quality education at Delhi, to the young tribal girls from India’s north-eastern province who are afflicted by the terrorism activities.

Shanti Devi Arya Kanya Gurukul is successfully looking after these girls providing them all basic and necessary facilities like shelter, cloths, food, education and medical etc.

It is wisely said that ‘with a girl’s education, whole house, society and nation gets educated’. Therefore, educating girls is very important; in fact, it is the right of girls to get education.

At Shanti Devi Arya Kanya Gurukul, Sainik Vihar, girls are given preschool education to make them capable of entering the regular schools of Delhi. Presently, there are 16 girls who are undergoing this in-house training. The older inmates of gurukul study in S
M Arya Public School, Kendriya Vidhyalas and KIIT School.

Apart from the education, the girls are nurtured to be confident, responsible citizen and capable enough to look after themselves. Also, they are imparted with the education of Indian values. Holy books like Ramayan, Bhagwat Geets and Vedic Mantras are recited to them. In order to make them able to safeguard and protect themselves, they are given the self-defense training.
